While walking in 90-degree weather to my last Shanghai history class this afternoon, I was craving a Magnum ice cream bar. Instead of taking a longer route to stop by FamilyMart, I decided to finally check out the Fudan market right inside one of the campus gates.
The cheapest you can get a Magnum in Shanghai is 7 RMB, but here, it was only 6.6 RMB. Now, the difference—in both RMB and in dollars—is really nothing, but when I saw that it was a whole 4 mao cheaper, I just asked myself, “Why the heck didn’t I come here earlier?”
Plus, it was interesting to note that my favorite kind (almond, bottom right) was the least full in the freezer.
