It’s the day before City Weekend’s 2014 Reader’s Choice Awards at the 7th Floor, one of Shanghai’s popular club venues.
The interns got a chance to join other coworkers working the event in visiting the venue in the afternoon.
It felt like a particularly long day (many Wednesdays often do), and I wasn’t able to eat dinner until around 8 p.m. after the mixer began. I was ravenous. Thankfully, the Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur sandwiches we had (for free!) were extremely satisfying.
And since there were three Shanghai Expat staff there, not including the former digital publisher, my supervisor let me leave early. It wasn’t until the next day that I realized that it would be the last mixer I would host, though, since I anticipate being too busy next Wednesday getting my internship portfolio and presentation ready. What an ending…
